Emma Taylor
Emma Taylor is the cast director and Frank N Furter of Scotland's RHPS cast "Dr. Scott's Extra Forks." Emma is a fan of the RHPS scene for twelve years now, and shows no sign of slowing down.
She was born on Nov 13, 1971 and first saw (and fell in love with) Rocky Horror in 1985, at the tender age of fourteen. She knew from the first time she saw the movie that it was something special. To put it in her own words "It was brilliant!"
Her first time seeing the film on the big screen was in 1986 at the Glasgow Grosvenor Cinema (The Grosvenor is the "8th St. Playhouse" of Scotland) and later turned out to be her place of employment as a manager.
After her second time (also in '86) seeing the show, she knew she had to become one of the cast. So she called the cinema at two in the morning after one of the shows to inquire if she might join, and was her being fourteen a problem? The answer? Yes and no. And Emma's career in Rocky as a performer had begun.
She has now been performing for ten years. She is her casts main Frank, but has at times performed every other character except for Criminologist and Janet. Emma also has attended RHPS conventions, seen Dame Edna perform live (Lady Dame Edna aka Barry Humphries, aka Bert Schnick from Shock Treatment), and has met both Patricia "Magenta" Quinn and Richard "Riff Raff" O'Brien in person.
She performs not only as the Grosvenor Cinema but also at local Universities, student Unions, and the like. In real life, she is the front of house manager at her Theater, and enjoys playing the piano, attending movies (foreign and domestic) and weight training (To build hr up her chest, arms, and legs.) and keeping in touch with Rocky friends across the world.
On a more personal level, Emma is a sweetheart of a girl, and a shining example of what a "cool Rocky person" should be like. She recently came to visit the New York City Rocky Horror Cast and was an instant hit as Frank N Furter. Her Sweet T and Lab costumes were picture perfect, her make up and wig shining replica's of Tim Curry's. She brought us news about the doings and happenings both in Scotland and UK, and also brought along a whole armful of gifts including newspaper write ups about her show, some fantastic photographs taken at the 20th Anniversary, and her own charm and style.
And there you have it: charming, beautiful, sweet, enthusiastic about the RHPS scene, pays attention to every detail when it comes to her costume, make up, and performance, and willing to talk about Rocky Horror with fans from across the world. Hoopla Emma Taylor from Dr. Scott's Extra Forks!
