THE 35th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW WILL BE CELEBRATED WITH A STAR-STUDDED TRIBUTE AND COSTUME BALL ON OCTOBER 28 AT LOS ANGELES' WILTERN THEATER.
This is the event of a lifetime. Khasan Brailsford, Danny DeVito, Jorge Garcia, Lucas Grabeel, Melora Hardin, Ricki Lake, George Lopez, Julian McMahon, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jack Nicholson, Nicole Scherzinger, and Evan Rachel Wood are among the talent signed on for this one-night-only live event. The evening will benefit The Painted Turtle, one of Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang Camps.
"It is going to be a night out to remember for a very long time," said Adler. "All of these amazing artists performing those classic songs plus a costume ball is amazing; but, most of all, it will benefit the special kids who attend the Painted Turtle Camp." This amazing event is being produced by Adler and Kevin Duncan and directed by Kenny Ortega.
****** And now all of our Rocky fans will have first crack at tickets before the press release goes out. Starting Tuesday tickets will go on sale. TicketMaster ( 800-745-3000 ) and LiveNation ( www.LiveNation.com ) will be selling the $100 and $50 seats, which will NOT include admission to the star-studded costume ball. For specially priced Fan Club tickets starting at $500 that include the post performance Ball, please call 5B Events at: 310-559-9334 and mention Code Word: SAL. As we all know, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is hailed as the king of Midnight cult films, and is in distribution longer than any film in the history of motion pictures. Adler, who is one of the original producers of the film and a founder of The Painted Turtle, will present a hybrid theatrical event combining the film version with select live musical performances from the film.
Since opening in 2004, The Painted Turtle has provided children throughout California, who suffer from chronic and life-threatening illnesses, the opportunity to rediscover the ordinary joys of being a child through a year-round camp and hospital outreach programs. To date, over 12,864 children and their families have been served by over 5,631 doctors, nurses and program volunteers. No child or family pays to attend camp.
